Church in the Park - 2010
Thirteen (13) Greater Taunton area churches came together on Saturday August 21st, at Memorial Park to celebrate the Taunton community in an Event named "Church in the Park". 2010 was the fourth annual event for the city of Taunton. The event, organized by Pastor Jack DaGraca (Father’s House Family Church), and in cooperation with Twelve (12) other area Churches, is a free community outreach program for Taunton area residents. The Event featured entertainment by local parishioners, free hot dogs, hamburgers, Pop Corn, soft drinks, non-perishable foods, clothing, school supplies, as well as crafts and face painting for the kids. For the first time, there were two giveaways for $250 grocery gift cards. There was also an hour dedicated to teens from 3 to 4 p.m. with local hip-hop artists and DJs with teen singing and dancing groupsThe participating Greater Taunton area churches and organizations include: Baptist Church of All Nations, Casa de Adoracion, Inc., Christ Community Church, Episcopal Church of St. Thomas, Family Worship Center, Liberty Christian Center, Memorial United Methodist Church, New Life Taunton Loving Church, Pilgrim Congregational Church, Reformed Catholic Church International New England, The Church of Restoration, The Refuge and Winthrop Street Baptist Church.
